What will happen?

I just have a feeling I should record this week. KW24 of 2016.

Finally I made my mind to prepare for my FIRST resume in German. Yes. Even though I have been working here since 2012…At last I  have the courage and the „feeling“ to give it a GO. (Thank you, David. xx)

Everyday after work, I started to make a new draft and cleared again my thoughs step by step. When I looked backwards, I was amazed by the flying time which filled with so many happenings again. I worked with my NB and even forgot to prepare my happy meal which I used to comfort myself after a long day. 100% Focus. Even the whole weekend. Everyday I got new ideas and found out a better way to  introduce *(or better to say – SELL myself) what I have experiened, what I have accomplished and of courese what I can do for my future employer!!!

All for DAVOS. I believe it’s worth trying. It doesn’t matter if I could get an interview or not. I did my best for it. And it could be a good start for other job applications. This one must be the best resume I have done for myself. Bonnie Handmade CV.  *(Not For Sale)

This city has kept a permanent space in my brain since last August. I was suffered from Pneumonia and it’s the first time I felt so close to death.( I’m serious !)  I coughed days and nights and nobody was by me. Luckily I won that bacteria and recovered. After that, David took me there for a better recovery. My first visit to DAVOS. The mountain air did me really good. So pure and so clean. We wandered in the mountains and sweated under the sunny days. Just a week stay my lung was totally cleaned. I do realize and appreciate  deeply how wonderful it is to be able to breathe freely.

This RE-BORN experience impresses me perfectly.

Recently my lungs become quite weak, coughs hit me at nights again. Therefore I checked DAVOS official site looking for some activities as my next trip reference. Suddenly I clicked on the JOB button and saw that job vacancy surprised me hugely!!!

That’s the one and only reason I want to do something connected to this place.

I consider it as a Serendipity between DAVOS and ME.

I’m really looking forward to it.  🙂

Steve Jobs‘ sayings are my best anti depression recipes..

„Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you will know when you find it.“

Iceland + Lofoten (14.Mai-24.Mai)

Yes. 🙂

A dream of my dream list came true again. 🙂  In order to avoid travelling with thousands of tourists in summer, May is basically a good month for travel anywhere. Ya. I am more than happy to visit Iceland and Lofoten as my birthday present this year. I’m extremely generous to myself this time. Indeed. But I’m soooo grateful for this trip; it’s the best one I have ever had.  The latest one but easily has taken over the first position from somewhere I‘m not bothered to remember. Unforgettable landscapes and the fantastic weather just couldn’t be better. Happy Birthday to me! 🙂

Iceland is relative colder than other Europe countries.   On the earth map it looks so small but owns the most amazing geographic environments : glaciers, mountains, ice lake, lagoon, waterfalls, active volcanoes, geyser, sand and lava fields. Amazing! I absolutely know 5 days for it couldn’t be enough. (Because I have defined it as a glimpse.  😛 ) Although I always dream of this country, I just couldn’t take the risk for my precious 11 holidays in the same country which I have never been.

As we rent a car, the staff had warned us not going to north part which was snowing. I did have enough snow in Germany, surely we wouldn’t go there. For the following days, we did our best to visit south and west part of Iceland. Other parts will be done for next time. Promise!

Of course it would be a great idea to do a round trip here next time. Firstly is the budget must be sufficient ( ISKs price will give you the same WOW-effect…), secondly is better to rent a 4-wheel-drive car to better handel with all kinds of roads, thirdly, pray for good weather. Safety is always the top 1 rule.  Especially when driving into some nature reserves, the roads are really rough without maintain, you need to be aware of the wild animals and birds to keep them undisturbed.

I got a strange feeling as if I was visiting another planet.  This country is simply “lonely”.  (Don’t get me wrong, lonely doesn’t mean negative.)  Iceland has only a population of around 300,000. Two-thirds of them live in Reykjavik and surrounding. So other parts are just EMPTY. No wonder Icelander love writing and reading more than any other countries in the world as they live without disturbances. It’s just so quiet, so calm, and so peaceful everywhere. You don’t even notice how long & how far you have been driving and still seeing nobody except lava fields. Over mountains you might see a “lonely” house built in the middle of nowhere and no neighbors nearby. Sometimes if you are lucky you might see a lovely tiny church with colorful roof near some farms with sheeps and horses lively.

Anyway I would say this country is really unique and worth visiting at least once in life. Especially when you have enough from the traffic jams or crowds of people everywhere, come to iceland. The best place you can enjoy your quietness.

OK, the second highlight of the trip about Lofoten starts from here.  🙂  heavenly happy. Yay!

I admit that I am madly, deeply, truly, passionately in love with Norway after my first visit in 2014. Don’t ask me why,  I haven’t found the answer yet. I do love it simply.

Lofoten is a must-see according to all my Norwegian friends and it’s a really wonderful x wonderful x wonderful place.  At the beginning I wasn’t sure where it’s located. Till I managed all the tickets for plane and ferry, I realized oh my god it’s in north of Norway!!! All my German colleagues couldn’t get it how come I plan to visit a place which is supposed to be colder than Germany in this lovely season. (Me either, I didn’t consider about that , to be honest. Everything about Norway fascinates me so easily EXCEPT NOK.)

The people we met on our way have made a lot of compliments for it. So we are really excited. And in the end we are amazed by it deeply. (Although it’s quite difficult to sleep with 24-hour day light.) This fabulous experience will be kept in my mind and be recalled in my whole life. I would say this visit got my money worth!!! No matter where you are, the views are too beautiful to be true. What an incredible place!

The pictures speak for themselves very well. Don’t they? The fresh air, cosy wind, sea like a mirror and the blue sky are just perfect combination.  I can feel my lung cleaned and my skin is shining again.  🙂

Shortly before my third visit of Norway, I made my mind to learn Norwegian by myself. (Since I have mastered the unbelievably tortured GERMAN with countless tears, I do believe I would never be afraid of learning anything else!) So I tried to practice my poor Norwegian there, even just after 100 days learning (still keep it going everyday..  ) and appreciated those nice Norwegian I met  who listen to me with patience and encourage me stick to it.

SURE. I WILL. 🙂 For Norways sake.

Was a bit surprised when I heard the locals suffer from depression due to only max. 2 hrs sun in winter. However, I did meet some kind people there and they were so friendly saying „hei hei“ to me with big smile unexpectedly . I know I know, it must be Sun’s credit! 🙂 I finally realize the charming of sunshine and how important it is for our daily life.

4-day-trip for Lofoten is not enough for sure. But it’s certainly an awesome experience of exploring Norway. Step by Step. Wanna see the whole Lofoten islands and the sea under the Lofoten by diving. Wanna see the northern lights in the dark winter…Wanna go hiking through mountains and visit Trolltunga…Wanna try swimming in the fjords…

The story about Norway and me just starts (…to be continued..)

Ha det bra. Vi ses. 🙂

Portugal (27.Jan-03.Feb)

One way of spoiling myself is travel.  (Proudly)

YES. I try to keep doing it as long as time and money fit each other. As I recalled what I have achieved in 2015, yes, I made it. I did travel more than 12 times and more than 12 countries. I’m not encouraging of spending out of money but seizing the time going to the different places freely.

The world is a book and those who don’t travel read only a page. I so much admire the invention of airplane. So that I can move easily and quickly to the place I wanna visit.

I have been working in Germany for more than 4 years with fulfilling a travel-around-the- europe plan. And luckily there are only few countries left I haven’t visited on this list. During all these years I just realized that I have become kind of spontaneous travel person. I do make plans for realizing my dream but with much more flexible options. Put simply, I don’t plan the exactly timetable any more because I do believe when the suitable timing comes, things go smoothly.

Like this visit of Portugal. It’s absolutely a pleasure for me that Portugal has been chosen as my first blog of keyword “Travel”. After visiting so many places, only few really impress me. Portugal is one of those.

This trip happened just because I had to use up my vacation of last year otherwise they will be omitted shortly. As usual I started my search with www.skyscanner.com . Surprisingly the flight to Portugal is the cheapest one. I am able to visit 2 biggest cities in Portugal at one time by booking 4 flights for paying ONLY 60 Euro in total.  (2 flights from DE to PT plus a Porto – Lissabon return ticket which costed me only 19,98 Euro by Ryanair.)

That’s exactly what I mean „spontaneous“ ! No need to worry about where to go. Just need to wait the right timing and signal. No clue? Keep waiting then!

Quite surprised by it and appreciated the chance to see it personally. It’s not a modern country but built with comfortable metro systems to bring you going all parts of it. You can’t miss adorable street cars and funicular! Amazing, isn’t it? I prefer to visit places during week days. Only so you can be a real Portuguese. You see people jogging n walking dog in the morning, students gathered at their favorite imbiss on their way home. Try the local foods like they do. Otherwise all you can experience is meeting other tourists.

Buildings are quite old and so unique there. They caught my eyes simply. So much love Portuguese made the tiles on the wall. Those beautiful tiles with different paintings bring life on the buildings. You can see them at churches, stations, and residential houses.  That’s why this place is attractive than others. Isn’t it? People who built these buildings with such warm and vivid color are supposed to be warm hearted too, aren’t they?!

Unexpectedly the weather forecast in the whole world made a „rainy day“ result in common. But actually I did have very lovely sunny days here! As I walked out the hotel, it’s just like a miracle, ya, a bit cloudy but you felt the strongest power of the blue sky and sun did their best to show me their passion! I took loads of pictures with blue sky. No need to say the fantastic sunset at Douro. I’ll be very willing to come back again!!!

Also visited one of the beautiful bookstores of the world. Livraria Lello. Before getting in there you need to pay 3 Euro for entrance but could be deducted from buying book. Luckily they have some English books available. 🙂 Otherwise I’m afraid I have to learn Portuguese then. 😉 (Still indulging myself in cool Norwegian.)

I would love to see the night view along the Douro. Safety is not my biggest concern here but my feet are on strike after walking in Porto at least 6 hr continuously. It’s not a big deal but because of those uphills n downhills. That’s really tiring!

Lissabon is another highlight of this trip! A huge city you definitely need the support from all kinds of public transfer. You ll be too confused how many different vehicles provided. I’m not saying about those private tourist buses or tuktuk, but those for everyone available – Buses, Boats, Hippobus, funiculars, trams, metros, of course trains!  I’m a good walker but for this city I recommend honestly and strongly buying a Lisboa card.

img1454360825306

I did my best to know Lisboa and was deeply grateful for the time and the weather. The price and life cost are unbelievably cheap when comparing to other European cities. (I’m even thinking about buying an apartment which I could definately afford!)

One thing is obviously sad is the Portuguese look quite depressed by the weak economic situation. But it’s still a shame to live at such a lovely place without enjoying their life. So except keeping myself busy to see every corner without map, I did some tests at the same time. I smiled to everyone from tram drivers, ticket seller, cafe shop assistants, tourists, police men…..etc. Surprisingly they did smile me back, a bit awkward but very lovely. They can SMILE indeed! Maybe they are not used to do it. They live in such a beautiful place on the earth and even in winter you need a warm jacket surely, a scarf, plus sunglasses. How wonderful it is!? Nothing better than getting that sun-kissed glow in winter!

I can’t remember since when I stopped to plan details of my trip except booking tickets and hotels in advance. Other stuff like „must see“ and “ must eat“ I have totally no idea before I arrive. The main reason for this is I expect surprises. I have been trained to be organized 100% by work (and it’s the lowest Standard by German). Don’t wanna make my trip like another project for me. Frankly speaking, I just have no energy to do the searching work. A great vacation should be no time table, no pressure, no hurry. That’s the charming of holidays. Isn’t it?

Portugal is really a great place. Can’t make enough compliment for it. You must not miss it when you are in Europe. And if you have time, kindly award yourself at least a week to get to know the beauty of it.
